Opportunity
- There are different ways to participate in the program:
- Certificate only (~ 4 – 6 hours)
- Core stream (2 months; varying hours)
- Core + research stream (minimum of 4 months)

Requirements
- Be a high school, college or university student
- Willing to get a police check
- Additional setting specific requirements
Key Elements
Certification: An 4 – 6 hour online training curriculum to increase students’ understanding of dementia & their role as companions.
Matching: Students will be matched as companions to older adults or individuals living with dementia based on their language preference, availability and similar interests among other factors.
Support & Coaching: Monthly sessions are provided for students to learn about dementia, hear from experts, and engage in peer-to-peer learning.
